Western Australian Rock Lobster Fishers’ Federation

The WA Rock Lobster Fisher's’ Federation was established in 1998 to act as the collective voice for fisherfolk to the government and broader community. Its remit includes the preservation and promotion of the cultural, social and economic importance of fisherfolk to the public.

Our members consist of small fishing families who still work their vessels from Mandurah to Lancelin with the majority of our members calling Fremantle home.

We represent some of the earliest Fishing Families who continue to ply their trade in WA - Names synonymous with the cultural, social and economic development in Fremantle and beyond -

Amato, Cambria, Camarda, Di Pane, Fernandes, Guarino, Lenzo, Lo Presti, Maloney, Mendolia, Merlino, Minutillo, Paratore, Petruzzo, Pittorini, Pittorino, Ricciardi, Santaromita, Scaffidi, Sgherza, Stanich, Yukich, Vinci, Watkins families…Just to name a few

We continue to support the local community more recently with our lobbying efforts to have a “Back of Boat” sales mechanism so that the public can access fresh, affordable lobster from our boats - Just the way we first started many years ago with direct market access to the community. We are also donors to the annual Fremantle Long Table Dinner with proceeds going towards the St. Patrick’s Community Support Centre.

We are supported by our husbands, wives, children and grandchildren, in what has always been for us, truly a family affair.

We look forward to seeing you all at the Wharf in the near future!
